    Watching the game last night and it hit me: way fewer athletes hawking betting sites than there used to be. Heard the provincial regulator tightened the rules on using athletes and celebrities in gambling ads.

    Honestly? Good. My kids watch these games. They don't need their heroes telling them where to deposit.

    Agree in principle, but the ads didn't exactly disappear — they just got weirder. Still wall-to-wall gambling spots in the third period, just with generic actors doing bits instead.

    We get the same national feeds out east. My nephew could recite the promo lines from memory at one point, which is when I started paying attention. Glad somebody's reining it in.

    'Reining it in' is doing a lot of work there, Marge. These companies have whole departments whose job is finding the loophole. But yeah, it's a start.
