bonus buy slots — genius or trap?

Bought a bonus round exactly once. It paid out less than the buy-in cost. I now feel both smart for quitting and permanently bitter. Where does everyone stand on bonus buys?

The trap is framing the buy price as 'the cost of the fun part' instead of what it actually is: a much bigger bet. Once I saw it that way, the button lost its magic.

Painfully accurate. It's not skipping the line, it's paying cover charge to a club that might be empty.

I still do it sometimes. I am the cautionary tale this thread needs.
